Your gym is struggling and it IS YOUR FAULT !!

 

Before you get your knickers in a twist let me frame that statement for you,

Your current business reality is based on the strategic decisions and actions you have and havn’t taken up to this point !!

 

Whether you have a high performing team that you invest in and have regular meetings and feedback with ?

Whether you are always marketing effectively and tracking ROI for these activities ?

Whether you have listened to members and acted on that feedback ?

Whether you have innovated in your chosen niche or got lazy and stayed stagnant for too long ?

Whether you are building a list daily of targeted leads and communicating with them daily ?

Lets look at sales first shall we !!

Have you got a sales problem or a retention problem ?

Most gym owners panic and see the live total slipping and immediately say we need more members but never look at how many leavers they have and WHY !!!!

You may be taking on decent new joiners but losing more then you are gaining and never be doing exit calls and feedback questionnaires to your leavers and never address the issue  !!

You may on the other hand have extremely high retention but very low new sales each month, which poses a different challenge !

First thing i usually assess with a gym is there prospect database and what the contact strategy is how many leads per day they are generating !

What ways are you advertising and marketing the club to generate leads ? social media, flyers, adverts, blogs, google ads etc

Both of these usually show why they have a new sales problem !!

How is the gym recording the data daily, calls, e mails, social media messages, walk ins,  email leads ?

What does the gym do with all these leads each day, follow up immediately ?

How do you handle club tours ?

Do you give prices out over the phone ?

What is your reputation in your area, what are you best known for ?

Lets look at Retention for a second shall we ?

First and foremost do your members get a warm welcome when they come into your club ?

do they get a a sincere goodbye when they leave ?

Are your team having powerful conversations with members , what present struggles are you facing ?, what can we do to help you achieve your goals ?, and doing these regularly !!

Do you have interactive gym challenges regularly ?

Do you keep members informed in club of what is going on ?

Do you have a member journey ?

Do you offer free programmes and reviews ?

Do you track low users and contact them ?

Do you always innovate the member experience and look at ways to improve this ?

OOOPS…. i may not be doing all i could hmmmmmm…

Its never too late to make changes and improvements and putting better systems in place and before it may be too late maybe we should have a conversation ??
